About this tool & privacy
A free, privacy-friendly calculator that shows what you really keep and how much working time a purchase costs.
What does this tool do?
You enter your gross income and the tool computes your real net income under the Dutch tax system. Then it converts any purchase into working time: how many hours, days or weeks you must work for it.
The tax analysis shows how much of your work week goes to tax and how your gross income compares to your net income.
How is the tax calculated?
We use the official Box 1 brackets (income tax + national insurance) plus the two main tax credits: the general tax credit (algemene heffingskorting) and the labour tax credit (arbeidskorting). It supports tax years 2025 and 2026 for an employee below state-pension age.
Net = gross − max(0, tax − credits). Credits reduce tax to at most €0, never below. Tax is computed on your annual income including 8% holiday allowance.
This is an accurate estimate of your annual assessment. Situational credits (like the income-related combination credit) and deductions are not included.
Privacy
All calculations run in your own browser. No data is sent to a server. Your income and savings goal are only stored locally on your device (localStorage) so you don't have to re-enter them. Clear your browser data to remove it.
